You can find more information in our slightly older, but still current blog post about USPs ! Lever 7: Do WhatsApp marketing! 89.4 percent of all Germans between the ages of 14 and 60 use WhatsApp. It feels like 0.05 percent of all companies in Germany use WhatsApp as a communication channel. While the open rate of commercial emails is at best around 30 percent, WhatsApp records around 95 percent! I think that this channel is currently not only neglected in Germany, but downright ignored. Imagine: there is a medium that is more widespread than Facebook and no one uses it.
This channel is currently only being tried out in very isolated cases. That's strange, isn't it? If you Special Data have an online shop, you could also offer support via WhatsApp. As a customer, I would find this very convenient. A chat or a phone call takes a lot of time, an email takes too long. From what I have heard so far, WhatsApp is very well received as a channel and actually helps to relieve the burden on support. We have only recently started using WhatsApp (you can subscribe to our channel here). What I also find impressive is that it is a completely different form of communication. When I'm a fan of a Facebook page, I usually post public likes and comments.
It can happen that someone else comments without being asked. With WhatsApp, all communication is 1:1, which means that no one else hears the chat between the company and me. This way I received much more personal messages than you would expect from a public Facebook page. The channel is also very multimedia! You receive photos, voice messages (!), locations, videos and lots of emojis from your subscribers and you can also send them yourself. I don't want to explain the future of online marketing - as some people often do.
